Bike Camp 2011
After careful consideration, Band of Angels has decided not to host a bike camp this summer. We expect to be back with a bike camp in 2012.
We are very proud that we have been able to provide this program for the past seven years but now must focus our efforts elsewhere.
Bike camp has always been a highlight of our year, however, it was very expensive and labor intensive to run. We contracted with an outside firm, Lose the Training Wheels, which provided special bikes, and two trainers. Our staff manned the facility daily as well as coordinated nearly 100 volunteers each week. Last year, for the first time, we had a very generous donor offset most of the expenses of the camp; however, it still required a tremendous amount of time along with resources to host.
For 2012
We are exploring options for funding and training for summer of 2012 and would welcome any suggestions and recommendations. In the meantime, feel free to contact Lose The Training Wheels to inquire about a camp near you.
