DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION OF ORANGE COUNTY COMPETES FOR $250,000 PEPSI REFRESH AWARD

Vote once a day during the month of June to help bring this prize home to Orange County

DSAOC and CHOC Children’s formed an alliance to establish a state-of-the-art pediatric clinic focused on children and adolescents with Down syndrome.  The clinic opened its doors late last year and was met with a tremendous response with appointment slots quickly filling up.

Go to http://www.refresheverything.com/dsaocclinic to register and vote once a day during the month of June for the CHOC Children’s Down Syndrome Program.

“We want to rally Orange County to bring this funding back to our community to support this new clinic that serves children with Down syndrome,” said Tres Heald, President of the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County.  “We have a huge opportunity to do something great for children with Down syndrome in Orange County – it only takes a few minutes a day to vote.”

Children with Down syndrome often have a myriad of complex health and medical issues. The clinic is designed to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.  The weekly outpatient clinic provides a turnkey program that offers referrals to a team of pediatric specialists that assists parents with navigating the healthcare system, while educating referring physicians to best practices and the special needs of children with Down syndrome.
