Mission Statement

Band of Angels celebrates children with Down syndrome and supports them in reaching their full potential, beginning with providing accurate and positive information about Down syndrome at diagnosis.

How It All Began

When Cynthia Kidder’s son, Jordan, was born in 1989, she quickly discovered how her "1 in 800" baby with Down syndrome was more the same than different. Daily, she was - and still is - astounded by the discrepancy between the life that was predicted for Jordan and the life he actually lives. And so in 1994 she founded Band of Angels to bring this inspiring and hopeful message to other families.
