Rochester Hills, Mich., October 14, 2010 – Rochester Hills based Band of Angels announced today that it has been awarded a $15,000 grant as part of the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge. Band of Angels received the award at a reception held by Art Van Furniture to recognize Band of Angels important work in the community.

Art Van Furniture is supporting Michigan-based children, health and human services programs for the second year in a row by providing $1 million to fund 50 grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. Nearly 600 organizations applied to receive these grants.

In addition, the public will be able to decide which of the 50 charities will be awarded additional money by voting on-line at  The public has until October 30th to vote. The charity with the most votes will receive an additional grand prize of $25,000. To vote for Band of Angels, go to Art Van Charity Challenge and select Band of Angels. You may vote daily!
