Angels from Vera Bradley, who support our mission, joined the Band of Angels by sharing proceeds from a very festive evening with our organization. Store manager Margo Morton showcased the pretty goods of Vera Bradley alongside vases of flowers, visiting supporters and some of Vera Bradley's biggest fans. We had fun; more than anything we had a chance to see our own Allie Hayes with her sister Hannah as they showed us their own personal style. We had a minute to speak and discussed the unique gift of sharing with charities. No one has to do this; it is a gift from the hearts of those at Vera Bradley and should be celebrated. As you shop for holiday gifts this season, make Vera Bradley a regular stop!

The self titled "Skeptical OB" has referenced information for parents of children with Down syndrome on her blog. Please read Cynthia's response below or add comment there or on our Facebook page. Dr. Amy is of the opinion that the parent community is re-writing materials on Down syndrome to some personal gain.

Regarding Dr. Amy's contention that people are well educated and that parents are "re-writing materials" I have to comment. Most people are not well educated unless current information is available. I have seen archaic information distributed recently. Indeed, if equally archaic information were the info of choice for cancer and heart disease, we would not be having an ethical discussion or one on morality. We would be talking about legal issues and lost lives. This is medically outdated; not a moral judgment.
